Ed,
Good evening. I have a question for you. When you are using the BBS via the web browser on your phone, do you usually hold the phone so that one of the short ends is the "top," or do you hold it longways so that one of the long edges is the "top"?
I am working on something for the BBS and wanted to survey how you view it when you are using a phone. Thanks!
Mike

Mike, I hold the phone long wise (horizontal).
Doing so shows the virtual keyboard with larger keys.
I have used it vertically to read but the keyboard keys are tiny.
I turned Auto rotate On so I can view the page either way whichever is best, but typing on it I like the larger keys on the phone .
Ed,
Next time you get a chance, try this site out: https://trynew.capitolcityonline.net
It should have a user account with the same login credentials as this one.
It does not have all of the message areas yet, and some of the links at the top (like News and Last 10 Callers) don't work yet, but the Conferences link should take you to the message areas and there are a few you read here there. There are also a couple, like Net2320 and Local Test Messages, that are specifically for entering messages to test the board. Feel free to post in them to test it out.
After you try it a time or two, let me know what you think. I am planning to eventually migrate over to that new format, but there are still plenty of room for tweaks. I already know there is one bug in the message display.
Thanks!
Mike
O.K. Mike,
It may be Tomorrow when I will get around to playing with it since I logged on
late tonight.
As many times as I have sellwtote messages for Help from you I might as well appreciate yourasking me to dosome testing for CCO BBS .
No rush.
I know that you use the web interface and will also not be shy to tell me
if you notice something off. ;)

* SLMR 2.1a * "Very funny, Scotty. Now beam up my clothes."
Scorpio is a bit different, I finally figuered to tap the top right corner and
saw what I could do there.
I figured out what the problem was. Synchronet saves passwords in all caps and they are not case sensitive. If you, like me, have been using what you thought was a mixed-case password, it doesn't work correctly with the new system if it was imported directly from Synchronet because the new system *is* case sensitive.
Your "Ed Vance" password should be the same as "Ed Vance2" now. Try logging in as "Ed Vance" next time and see if it works.
Yes, it will be a little different but hopefully better once you get used
to it.
Thanks for your assistance in figuring out this "bug"!
Mike
Both accounts I entered thepassword in lower case.
I will log on to Scorpio again without the 2 today.
Work Me as hard as you can. I knowIcausedyou a lot of head scretching .
Glad to be of help.
Ed,
Thanks! Lower case should work for both just fine on that system.
