• GTDDIR File and Doors

From DARYL STOUT@CAPCITY to ALL USERS on Mon Jan 10 23:59:00 2005

I know that GTDDIR.BBS is for the access level and the name of the
    doors on the BBS...with GTDOOR##.BAT from door 1-99...and GTDOR###.BAT
    from door 100-999.

In preparing my BBS for telnet access, I'm redoing my doors menu
into several categories...A for the 100 doors, B for the 200 doors,
etc.; with 9 door categories in all. Each door category starts with GTDOR##1.BAT and going up from there.

My question is does the GTDDIR.BBS have to have the same number of
entries as per the door categories?? Basically, since the first "door"
in the new setup will be #101, do I need 100 "closed door entries" in
the GTDDIR.BBS file, before the others...then repeat the process for
    each category??

Disk space for the file isn't the problem...but I'm doing it this
way to increase the total doors I have available to 170. I'll let
everyone know the telnet address when everything is ready.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I believe that you will need 100 entries with '0' access level, before
the first entry for door 101. I am pretty sure that GT will treat the
first line of GTDDIR.BBS as #1 and not default to the lowest door number.

I went ahead and set up an "auxiliary announcement door", with a
screen telling callers that the doors have been rearranged...as I
figured it'd be easier that way. The MS-DOS Editor throws a fit, saying
"too many files are in the directory", but it lets me edit the ones I
    want.

I'm still waiting on the ECommStation stuff to arrive...I got an email
on Jan. 11, saying that it had been shipped...but so far, nothing. When
it does come in, I'll probably be down a few days to move everything
over to the new system, once it is installed. I'll keep you posted.
