Mike,
I want to Unjoin the MIN_DEBATE echo #2105.
I looked around the Web Portal a bit under headings like POLITICS, CHAT e and couldn't figure out what message section it was in.
Let me know where it is found or IF You removed it from my message scan.
Ed,
Have you tried issuing a DROP command in SLMR? Try that first, if it does n MR>work I will see to removing you (I am sure I can find a way!).
Mike
Yes, I tried a couple of days ago but I'm still getting messages in area 2105 in my QWKs.
Is there a way on Telnet to see the areas listed by number so I could
drop the area myself?
I'm not against TELNETting, just lazy. ;-)
Now that I have a FTP script and .BAT file to run it I just type a few lette and press the Enter key and all the work is done for me except renaming the packet in SLMR.
Was the example above of what I do here to get QWKs a good enough
example of lazy?

Ed,
There actually is a way, but I tried that. I telnet'ed in as you, and it sa MR>that you are not joined to that one! Some bug-a-boo I need to figure out, n MR>doubt!

Mike,
I found the Micronet Debate sub under the Politics Current Events Forums on the web portal.
The MIN_DEBATE sub was marked NO but I tried to mark it YES so I could save that setting and then return to mark it NO to try to set the BBS on tra for me but when I checked to Save it it was unchanged.
While looking through the subs I saw the Computer Support/Help
Discussons sub under the Hardware/Telecom/Technical Forum section and
when I tried marking it YES I got the same response.
So I thought I'd read some messages in that section on the web portal
but when I tried to open the sub I got a
ERROR
You don't have sufficient rights to read this sub
message.
That sub may be called MIN_COMP in my .QWK packet.
If it is I think I've seen it but can't remember if that was the MIN sub I've read that just had Reports or some such stuff that I ain't
interested in looking at anyway. ;-)
I hope my tinkering hasn't fouled anything up on CCO.
Let me know if You're ready to BAN me from all Subs or not. ;-)

Ed,
I think this should be fixed now. If you were joined to any of the 2100-ser MR>MIN_ echos, you will need to rejoin them. They are now prefixed MN_ and are MR>the 2900-series.
You should also now be unjoined from MIN_DEBATE. ;-)

Mike,
It looks like You fixed it.
I didn't get any messages in the MN debate sub.
Thanks for Your efforts.
When I read Your previous message #6 I was thinking of telling You that
I could live with the MIN Debate sub being in my .QWK packets, but I
read message #7 and saw You went to work to fix it.
I hope doing that for me doesn't cause others to have a problem with the MN subs now.
Thanks.

Ed,
Separating the areas for the QWK nodes vs. the actual users was something th MR>needed to be done. Trying to use the same numbers and areas was causing a f MR>additional problems that I had also noticed. So, it is a good thing!

Mike,
Since You done the work on the BBS (for me) I haven't had any messages
in WindowsA or WindowsB, and maybe not any FIDO messages.
Would You please check that out?
Here is a list of Subs in the Last Two packets I got:
7 SBBSHelp
128 ModelRR
1079 DrWho-Brit
1215 MEMORYLANE
2005 TECHNICAL
2006 PROGRAMM'N
2902 MN_CHATTER
2904 MN_COMPUTE
2905 MN_DEBATE
As I wrote below about the Debate sub, Don't worry about doing anything for me about it.
I can live with the few messages and extra few bytes in the packet it takes up.
I'll leave it alone, If I want to read it I will, If I don't want to
read it I won't.
I don't want any more of my suggestions causing problems for You AND
the other Users of CCO BBS, but IF You can check and see if the FIDO
feed is working or not everyone who reads those Subs will appreciate it.
Thanks. Ed
P.S. I hope this message doesn't raise Your Blood Pressure.

Yes, something unrelated squashed the fido stuff. It should be back
sure if messages will show up right away or not, though.
You are not joined to any of the MN 2900 series stuff. If you are getting m MR>there, it is out of our control. ;-)
