Was thinking about when I started getting BBS messages by FTP again.
Would the message pointer show this years messages or back to the last time I used FTP two years ago?
If 2 years of messages got put in a ZIP file I don't think MMDOS could handle it.
I'm still comfortable with PKUNZIP options, and have 7Zip on the XP box too
Since I have been here recently would the message pointer show only current unread posts? Hope so.
It should know what your current pointers are. That said, if you are still subscribed to any areas that you are not currently reading, it may pull a bunch.
Might be good to pull the first packet, then check the web interface one
last time if the packet turns out to be too big to handle. After that, the packet pointers should be caught up.
