• RIPDOOR

From Daryl Stout@TBOLT to ALL on Tue Feb 26 12:07:00 2019
I have a registered copy of RIPDOOR, created by one time GT Power
Sysop Bill Watts. Yet, I can NOT get the download option with it to work
under Synchronet...yet it worked under GT Power for dial-up.

It notes in the documentation to set the DSZPORT at the comport (i.e.
SET DSZPORT=1), and with telnet and a fossil driver, comport 1 is used
by default, no matter how many nodes there are. I have put that command
in my AUTOEXEC.NT file, but it doesn't seem to work.

Synchronet also allow the setup of doors that didn't have a fossil
driver when they were created...because you need a fossil driver for it
to work under telnet, or a workaround for it with a generic dropfile,
    and the Doorway program.

I've tried it with and without a fossil driver...and have also tried
the initial version of DSZ, and the fossil version of DSZ (FDSZ), but
    nothing works.

Even though RIP Graphics aren't around much, except in some doorgames
and some BBS screens, I'd still like to have that option available.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Could it be that the program is expecting a '0' value for COM1, a '1' for
COM2, etc.? I know that some programs, like the ADF fossil driver, expect that.

Also, are you sure that synchronet is passing COM1 for every node? I have never tried setting up a DOS door so I don't know what it passes. I do
know that, under linux, you have to be sure the dos emulator has that com
port defined in the emulator config file... is that also true of the windoze dos emulator?

    I wouldn't think so...but I can try that.

That I'm not sure of. But, I'll try anything at this point.

What I may do is just create a generic dropfile, and see what that
    does.
